Focus of the Event
The Canada-EU Future Internet Workshop 2011 will bring together European Union (EU) and Canadian researchers and companies to explore opportunities to directly interact, to be updated on the respective research statuses, and to explore areas of mutual interest. The event is designed to address industry interests and to provide interested Canadian partners with an opportunity to participate in EU research related to the Future Internet. It will also provide a basis for the exploration of longer term joint research avenues and processes.
The major objective this event is to explore prospects for deeper exchange and collaboration between the Canadian and European research communities in the area of "Future Internet (FI)" in Europe.
Participants will be introduced to a set of collaborative research activities and projects currently running (or planned to run) in Canada and under the European 7th Framework and will have an opportunity to present their project ideas, discuss potential collaboration, and get the newest information about the ICT theme of FP7, as well as, meet and establish essential contacts to optimize their chances of success in the next calls of FP7.
In addition, the Plenary Sessions will provide important information on Canadian and European visions and research strategies related to the Future Internet and the Digital Economy.
